rgoyle fountain

an ongoing experiment in offbeat fountain technologies...

placement: i bought a gargoyle fountain and decided to put it on the roof. i made a concrete base just over the front door and almost immediately, i hated it there. i made another base in the corner valley of the roof and relocated the fountain there.
plumbing: i ran a hose from the gargoyle, through an imbedded pipe in the base, along the gutter, and into the gutter downspout. from there, the hose runs into a pond to the pump. prior testing gave me the correct placement of the 60 gallon pond insert i sunk into the ground. using a timer, i have the pump cycling on and off twice a day.
function: the water drops from roughly 12' high. this causes splashing that over the course of a week to ten days, requires me to top off the pond.
lighting: two lights are mounted just below the gargoyle to illuminate it at night. i cut several colored glass discs that i insert into the lights to cast various colors on the fountain. spooky...
